V. P. Tolstenko is a photo-chronicler of the Amur Region. Participated in the war with Japan on the ship PB-8. He started photography in 1951. In 1958 he became a photojournalist in Blagoveshchensk, a member of the Union of Journalists of the USSR. Thrice organized photo exhibitions. The personal fund of VP Tolstenko in the Amur State Archive includes more than 450 documents. He was awarded the Order of the Patriotic War II degree, medals "For military merit", "For impeccable service", etc.
