The diary consists of fragmentary entries made by Zinaida Antonovna Ryzhkova from January to June 1944. The text begins with the words: "22 / I-1944 On the morning of the 15th, a cannonade sounded: first we thought that these were anti-aircraft guns, because there was a fire in the southern eg, and then we realized that our troops were moving to a breakthrough near Leningrad ... "(author's spelling and punctuation are preserved).
