May 24, 2012 in the Presidential Library The sixth meeting of the Working Group on Countering Illicit Drug Trafficking, established within the framework of the bilateral Russian-American presidential commission, was held in the name of Boris N. Yeltsin. The meeting was opened by the co-chairs of the working group: the chairman of the State Anti-Drug Committee, the director of the Federal Service for Drug Trafficking VP Ivanov and the director of the State Drug Control Policy Department of the US President's Administration G. Kerlikowski. The meeting was attended by representatives of the Federal Drug Control Service of Russia, the Ministry of Health and Social Development of Russia, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, Rosfinmonitoring, as well as the Office of State Drug Control Policy of the US President Administration, the US Drug Enforcement Agency, the US Department of State and the US Department of Health. The main topics of discussion were the issues of treatment and rehabilitation of drug addicts, the improvement of Russian and American anti-drug legislation, and work to reduce the demand for drugs.
