The triumphal arch in the Red Village is open May 9, 2015, to the 70th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. The initiator of the creation of the arch is the writer Daniil Granin. The project was based on a temporary triumphal arch designed by the architect A. Gegello, installed in the summer of 1945 on the Middle Rogatka to meet the winning soldiers. In connection with the impossibility of establishing a monument on a historical site for construction, Krasnoye Selo was chosen. The arch is located at the intersection of Kingisepp highway, Lenin avenue, Gatchina highway and Restoration street - fierce battles for Leningrad were fought during the war, Leningrad soldiers were returning home on Lenin Prospect. The base of the arch contains a capsule with a message to the descendants.
