The photo shows a monument to submarine heroes of the Northern Fleet, who died during the Great Patriotic War, installed near the House of Submariners in Polar region of the Murmansk region. It is a figure of a sailor on a square pedestal, behind it - a high obelisk. In the upper part of the obelisk there is an image of the Order of the Red Banner, below it is the inscription: "To the Heroes of the Submariners of the Northern Fleet" and a symbolic image of the submarine. The lower part of the obelisk depicts the flag of the Navy. On the front side of the pedestal is a memorable inscription. The monument was opened on June 22, 1944. The author - sculptor L. E. Kerbel, who served during the war in the Northern Fleet .
