"Nevsky Piglet" - the designation of a bridgehead on the left bank of the Neva opposite the Nevskaya Dubrovka, captured and held by the Soviet forces of the Leningrad Front (from September 19, 1941 to April 29, 1942 and from September 26, 1942 to February 17, 1943 during the battle for Leningrad. Before the war began, the Arbuzovo village was on the site of the springboard. "Nevsky Piglet" occupies 2 km along the Neva and 800 m from the coastline and is located after leaving the city of Kirovsk, between the highway Shlisselburg-St Petersburg and the Neva. In 1978, the bridgehead received the official status of the memorial military historical complex "Nevsky Piglet", belonging to the memorial structures of the "Green Belt of Glory". The complex occupies the central and southern parts of the Nevsky Piglet. - In 1985, the monument Ghost Village (architect M. L. Hidekel, O. S. Romanov) was installed as a symbol of 38 villages and villages completely destroyed during the war in the territory of the modern Kirov district.
