November 28, 2017 in the reading room of the State Archives of Contemporary History of the Novgorod region, the historical and documentary exhibition "Revolution and Civil War in Novgorod Land" (on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Revolution of 1917 in Russia) was opened. The exhibition presents 65 archival documents from 6 archive collections. Documents (originals and copies) are placed in 4 sections.

On February 25th, 2025 at 11:00 Moscow time, a presentation of the fourth volume of History of Russia: In 20 Volumes will take place at the Presidential Library, as part of the video lecture series Knowledge of Russia. The volume is titled Russia in the 16th Century: The Creation of a Single State and was prepared by the staff of the St. Petersburg Institute of History of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

The Sea Battle of Sinop was fought
30 November 1853
On November 18 (30) 1853 as part of the Eastern (Crimean) War (1853-1856) the Black Sea squadron under the command of Pavel Stepanovich Nakhivov during the sea battle of Sinop inflicted a crushing defeat on the Turkish squadron of Osman Pasha. This battle became the last major naval battle during the Age of Sail.

On June 21, 1941, on the eve of the Great Patriotic War, the Soviet Army added to its armory the repeating rocket launching shoe BM-13, called ‘Katyusha’. It was developed by NII-3 (Research Institute) under the guidance of A. G. Kostikov.
