A new virtual exhibition arranged by the Department of Foreign Language Literature of the Novgorod Regional Universal Scientific Library is entitled "Novgorod on the Pages of Foreign Publications of the XIX from the Rare Book Collection of the Novgorod Regional Universal Scientific Library".

April 27 (May 10), 1917 was adopted the decree of the Provisional Government, "On the press institutions" under which was established a bibliographic agency, called the Book Chamber.

On June 8 (20), 1893 in St. Petersburg on the initiative of Dmitry Mendeleev, scholar and curator of Weights and Measures Models Depot, in order to ‘preserve the uniformity, correctness and mutual correspondence of weights and measures in the state’ was established the Boards of Weights and Measures, the scientific metrological center of Russia.
