These documents reveal the main challenges in implementing Belarusianization, as a specific example of Indigenization, and the mechanisms used to address these challenges.
The publication provides a brief overview of the activities of the People's Commissariat for Nationalities from 1917 to 1923, along with statistical information about the size, national composition, and number of people in the autonomous republics and regions of the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic (RSFSR), as well as their economic and cultural conditions. Special focus is given to the various departments of the commissariat and their scientific institutions.
