Languages of People of the World: The National Library of Russia presents “Diversity of Languages and Cultures” exhibition

On October 25, 2018 the National Library of Russia, New Building (St. Petersburg) is presenting the exhibition “Diversity of Languages and Cultures”.

The history of the extensive collection of books in Oriental languages and languages of people of Russia at the Imperial Public Library dates back to 1808 - 1812. Prior to 1917 the holdings had primarily consisted of books in Oriental languages, by 1930 the number of books in languages spoken by Soviet people had increased.
