Monthly Internet audience in Russia has reached 60 million people, and about 21 million of users connect with the Internet from mobile devices, said a representative of the “Public Opinion” Foundation at the Russian Internet Week 2011 Conference.

According to the Foundation, about 67% of users (43 million people) connect with the Internet every day; among mobile users this index equals to 39% (10,6 million people).

The leading regions according to the number of Internet users are the city of Moscow, Moscow region and St. Petersburg: in total 12 million people connecting with the Internet live there.

“TNS Russia” research company Director for work with advertising agencies Mikhail Raibman said at the RIW conference that 61,2 million of Russian Internet users are over 12 years old, which equals to 49% of the total Russian population of the same age. According to him, the difference in evaluation of audience is due to different methods of count.

M. Raibman also noted that the number of days users spend in the Internet is increasing: in September 2008 it was 16 days, and in September 2011 – 20 days. Moreover, in September 2011 users spent 50% of time at 10 top-resources including Yandex, Mail.Ru, Google, social networks “Odnoklassniki” and “VKontakte”, etc.

According to the report of  the “Public Opinion” Foundation in spring 2011, 52,9 million Russian people used the Internet monthly, and in winter 2010-2011 there were 50,3 million Internet users over 18 years old.
