Regions of Russia: “Pages of Simbirsk Governorate’s cultural life” conference in Ulyanovsk

The Workshop Conference “Cultural life pages of Simbirsk Governorate – Ulyanovsk Region” is opening on March 22 2012 in Ulyanovsk. It is timed to The Year of Culture and National Glory, which was announced in the region on the initiative of Governor Sergei Morozov.

The conference has attracted scientists, regional historians, specialists from archives, libraries, cultural and educational institutions of the Middle Volga Region.

Participants will discuss the promotion of the civil society’s traditions in cultural environment, the role of a personality in cultural and historical context.

Particular attention will be turned to relations between state and private archives, cultural and economic relations of Volga Region people in different historical periods. Within the conference specialists of the State Archive of Contemporary History of Ulyanovsk Region will hold a presentation of private collections of cultural workers.
