Russian culture abroad: “The Russian Library” to be published in the USA

June 6, 2012 in the U.S. Fair BookExpo America Russia presents a unique cultural project - the publication in the USA of "The Russian libraries" in English, by analogy with the popular in the USA "The American library." The collection will be presented as the Russian classics and books by contemporary authors.

The so-called "The Russian Library" will consist of 25 volumes and will present the main literary heritage, starting from the “The Tale of Igor's Campaign”. Approximately 25-30% of this library will be dedicated to contemporary writers, and will form the basis of works by Russian writers of XVIII-XIX centuries"- commented organizers of Project references.

Participation in the current Fair BookExpo America is the most ambitious project of Russia over the past twenty years to move Russian literature abroad. The Russian delegation is consisted of the heads of major publishing houses, book retailers, writers, critics and artists.
