Society and culture: The VIII International seminar of translators of works of L. N. Tolstoy and other Russian classics in the Tula region

26-29 August 2013 the Museum-Estate of Leo Tolstoy “Yasnaya Polyana” (the Tula region) holds the VIII International seminar of translators works of Leo Tolstoy and other Russian classics.

As part of the seminar for discussion at Yasnaya Polyana, where traditionally were made many translations of the genus Tolstoy, are rendered pressing problems of the theory and practice of translation.

The seminar brings together translators and scholars of L. N. Tolstoy from 12 countries, including Russia. A characteristic feature of the Yasnaya Polyana seminars of translators are field sessions; this year, at the conclusion of the seminar at Yasnaya Polyana, translators go to the A. S. Pushkin Museum in Moscow, the Pushkin Hills, where will be held the workshop of Andre Markovic “From Pushkin to Pushkin - the way of the translator”.
