Society and book culture: The festival of national book “Through the book – to the consent of the peoples” in Chuvashia

Traditional, expected, bright April event in the cultural life of Chuvashia is annually the festival of national book "Through the book - to the consent of the peoples". Permanent organizer of the festival is the Ministry of Culture of Chuvashia and the National Library of the Chuvash Republic.

The main activities of the festival 2015 are held on 15-25 April 2015 in the cities Cheboksary, Ulyanovsk as well as Alikovsk, Vurnarsk, Morgaushsky and Poretsky areas of the Chuvash Republic.

Special events this year's festival include the opening of a unique exhibition "Costume of the peoples of Russia in the schedule of the XVIII - XIX centuries" from the collection of the Russian State Library of Arts; the Interregional forum "The modern reader, viewers and listeners - the formation of their spiritual world and the needs of quality information and literature" in cooperation with the Union of Journalists of the Chuvash Republic; personal exhibition of Honored Artist of Russia, People's Artist of Chuvashia Misha Grigoryan "When the stones are crying" (to the 100th anniversary of the Armenian genocide) and the premiere of the documentary "Dr. Bassam. The Adventures of foreigners in Russia".  

As part of the festival will take place traditional theme days devoted to the book: Italian and Chuvash, Orthodox, and environmental science (publications of the State Institute for Human Sciences), as well as the national epic day and day of Chinese poetry.

During the festival in the Hall of recent acquisitions of the National Library will run book exhibition "Colors of national cultures".

The festival is attended by writers and poets, artists, librarians, journalists, public, bookselling organizations and cultural institutions.

The festival will help to preserve the historical and cultural heritage of the country, to form the moral values of the society through the book culture, the promotion of the best examples of national literature to the public and will certainly be a bridge to bring together readers of all nationalities.
