The Presidential Library: New acquisitions

In 2014, during the preparation for the celebration of the 70th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War the Presidential Library has begun to develop the project "Victory one for everyone". The project aims to bring together photographs of monuments, obelisks, military memorials, as well as the living veterans of the Great Patriotic War - and thereby capture and demonstrate the contribution of all the republics of the Soviet Union in the victory over fascism. 

Any user of the Presidential Library website can become a participant of the project and share their story by adding their own photographs. All submitted documents are reviewed by the expert commission of the Presidential Library and descriptions are also provided. The result of the project will be the creation of interactive maps with geographical photographs of memorable characters, steles, obelisks, memorials and portraits of veterans of the Great Patriotic War.

The first materials included in the Presidential Library collection, has enriched the collection Memory of the Great Victory. Sections Living Memory and Memorial complexes and monuments present photographs of veterans of Biryusinsk (the Irkutsk region): Alexander Ilyich Belykh, Veniamin Ivanovich Kvasha, Alexander Nikolayevich Kostyukovich, Constantine Anufrievich Kochanowski, Peter Alexeevich Moroz, Ivan Feodorovich Panchenko, photo album of participants of the Great Patriotic War of the Nagorsky district of the Kirov region; Image monuments in Nagorskaya district of the Kirov region: Monument in the village Bazhelka, monument in the village Zaevo, monument "Eternal glory to the soldiers" in the village Kachonki, the Obelisk in the village of Cobra, the Obelisk in the village of Krasnaya Rechka, monument in the village of Lipovka, monument in the village of Mulino, monument to fallen soldiers in the Great Patriotic War in the village of Nagorsk, monument in the village of Nikolayevo, monument in the village of Sinegorye, the Obelisk in the village of Shevyrtalovo, Taiga in the Kemerovo region: Memorial to soldiers who died in the battles for the Motherland, 1941-1945, in Chernyakhovsk and the Chernyakhovsk district of the Kaliningrad region: Monument to General of the Army I. D. Chernyakhovsky (Chernyakhovsk), Memorial complex on a communal grave of Soviet soldiers (Chernyakhovsk), Memorial sign of exploration group "Doc" died in October 1944 (v. Red Hill).  

The further implementation of the project and the preparation of new materials for the collection "Memory of the Great Victory" will be continued.
