Lev Rudolfovich Kogan (1885-1959) - candidate of philological sciences, librarian. He taught the course of nineteenth-century Russian literature. in the Leningrad Communist Political and Educational Institute. N. K. Krupskaya. In 1931 he published a monograph "Library work with fiction", in 1932 he became the first head of the department of the history of literature. The author of works in the field of the history of Russian literature, including the book "The Chronicle of the Life and Work of AN Ostrovsky" (1953)
