Summary The Olonetsk province existed from 1801 to 1922. After the creation of the Ingermanlad province in 1708, the territory of the future Olonets province became part of it.Since 1710-as part of the St. Petersburg province.In 1719, Kargopol with the surrounding lands became part of the Belozersky province.When the separate Novgorod province was allocated in 1727, the Olonets district became part of its Novgorod province, which by the end of the century consisted of Olonets and Vytegorsky districts and Padan districts.In 1776, Novgorod governorship was formed.The Olonets region was also created in its composition, which included five counties.In 1781, the Olonets region was transferred from Novgorod governorship to the St. Petersburg province.Since 1781, she became a province of St. Petersburg province with the center of the province in Petrozavodsk.Since 1784, there has been an independent governorship, which in 1796 was divided between the provinces of the Arkhangelsk and Novgorod.The Olonets province was formed again in 1801, then the provincial rule was introduced in it.At the beginning of the twentieth century, the province included 7 counties.In 1922 it was abolished
