Establishing of the Russian Provisional Government
A Provisional Government - the highest executive-administrative and legislative body of state power in Russia between the February and October revolutions was created on March 2 (15), 1917, by agreement between the Executive Committee of the Council of Workers’ and Soldiers’ Deputies and the Provisional Committee of the State Duma. Representatives of the liberal-bourgeois parties - the Cadets, the Octobrists and the Progressives played the leading role in it. The chairman of the Provisional Government and simultaneously the Minister of the Interior was appointed a large landowner Prince G. Y. Lvov - a member of the Moscow Progressive Party Committee. The Provisional Government included the leader of the Octobrist party A. I. Guchkov (military and naval minister), Socialist-Revolutionary A. F. Kerensky (Minister of Justice), P. N. Milyukov (Minister for Foreign Affairs), A. I. Konovalov (Minister of Trade and Industry), M. I. Tereshchenko (Minister of Finance).
