Cadet Day at the Presidential Library to be dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the complete liberation of Leningrad from the Nazi siege

On April 9, 2024 at 11:00 the Cadet Day will be held at the Presidential Library. This year the event is dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the complete liberation of Leningrad from the Nazi siege.

Cadet Day will be held in the format of a quiz, whoch will which teams of students from pre-university military educational institutions located in St. Petersburg and Leningrad Region.

Participants will be asked to go through several stages:

– blitz test (answers to five questions on the topic of the quiz game in the multimedia complex of the Presidential Library);

– team contest (answers to three questions on the topic of the quiz game);

– captain contest (team captains and their chosen assistants answer a question on the topic of the quiz game);

– finalist contest (the two teams with the most points answer a difficult question on the topic of the quiz game).

Then the winning team members will be awarded.

All quiz questions are based on materials from the Presidential Library's collections presented in the Defence and Siege of Leningrad collection and the virtual tour “Materialized Memory: Defence and Siege of Leningrad in Museum Exhibitions”.

The regional stage of the Cadet Day quiz for students from other regions was held online from March 25 to April 1 on the quiz website.

Cadets of the Tver Suvorov Military Order of Honor School, students of the Cadet Boarding School named after Hero of the Soviet Union Ivan Zakharovich Beznoskov from the city of Khanty-Mansiysk and students of the Lieutenant General V. M. Khalilov Moscow Military Music School took an active part in this stage.

The winner of the online quiz was Yegor Sopov from the Tver Suvorov Military Order of Honor School, who scored 62 out of 65 points in the quiz.

The award ceremony for the winner of the regional stage of the quiz will be held via video conference as part of the Cadet Day.

The event will be broadcast on the Presidential Library’s portal in the Live Broadcasts section in accordance with the program of live broadcasts as well as on the institution’s Rutube-channel, on the social networks VKontakte and Odnoklassniki.

Accreditation of media representatives is until 12:00 April 8, 2024.

The letter should contain the full name, date and place of birth, passport data (series, number, place of registration), a list of carry-on equipment, contact phone numbers, the name of the media.

We draw the attention of the media representatives that it is necessary to forward applications for accreditation and arrive at the event in advance.

Entrance to the Presidential Library is carried out only by prior registration and upon showing a passport: for media representatives - through entrance № 2, participants and guests of the event - through entrance № 1.
