On April 25, 2024 at 15:00, within the framework of the VII National Scientific and Methodological Conference with international participation “Architecture of University Education: Strategic Initiatives and Effective Solutions”, the Presidential Library, subordinate to the Administrative Directorate of the President of the Russian Federation, will hold an open discussion “Strategic tools in the implementation of educational policy Russia in interdepartmental interaction".

The event will be attended by Deputy of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, member of the State Duma Committee on Science and Higher Education Olga Vasilievna Pilipenko, Deputy Head of the Federal Service for Supervision in Education and Science Svetlana Mikhailovna Kochetova, Advisor to the Head of the Federal Service for Supervision in Education and Science science Natalya Vasilievna Altynikova, Minister of Education of Penza Region Alexey Pavlovich Komarov, Vice-Rector for Educational and Methodological Work of the Moscow Pedagogical State University Ekaterina Aleksandrovna Balabaeva, Rector of the Leningrad Regional Institute for Educational Development Olga Vladimirovna Kovalchuk, Acting Director of the Faddeev Academic Gymnasium of St. Petersburg State University Alexander Alexandrovich Zhidkov and other guests of honor.

The discussion will consider the prospects for interaction between the institutions of the Administrative Directorate of the President of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation.

Within the open discussion, representatives of the Presidential Library will talk about successful experience in using the library’s information resources in a single history textbook.

Last year in Russia, students in grades 10–11 began studying history using new textbooks - two textbooks on the history of Russia and two textbooks on general history. The textbooks “History of Russia” and “General History” for the 10th grade cover the period 1914–1945, “History of Russia” and “General History” for the 11th grade talk about events from 1945 to the present.

Textbooks contain QR-codes with links to documents, books, articles, films, and other sources of information. The Presidential Library became the only library which information resources entered new educational publications. Of all the Internet links in new textbooks, more than 15% of QR-codes lead to the collections of the Presidential Library, which contain more than 15 thousand documents and materials on the history of Russia. In total, the textbooks provide links to resources from 16 portals, but only 7 of them, including the Presidential Library, are available in the text of the textbook itself, accompanied by methodological paragraphs.

As a result of the joint work done by the team of authors and the Presidential Library, unified history textbooks have become an integrated resource that provides convenient and quick access to reliable primary sources, including archival documents. Developing this positive experience, the Presidential Library is carrying out similar work for the history textbooks being developed for grades 5–9.

Also, as part of an open discussion, information will be presented on the holding of a contest of students' works of the Presidential Library, in which students from universities in the Russian Federation and foreign countries participate, regardless of citizenship, place of residence and study, course of study, educational program of higher education. Every year, coursework, final qualifying papers, articles, reports and other research materials are accepted for the contest. The main goal of the contest is to disseminate reliable knowledge about Russia and create conditions for the development of creative abilities of university students. The objectives of the contest are to attract students’ attention to the history of Russian statehood, culture and the Russian language, and to develop students’ skills in holding scientific research using archival documents and other materials from the electronic collections of the Presidential Library. The main condition for participation in the contest is the mandatory use of at least three sources from the electronic collections of the Presidential Library, which number more than a million depository items.
