The second stage of the school Olympiad "Russia in the electronic world" was launched in the Presidential Library

December 12, 2016 the second stage of the annual interactive Olympiad of the Presidential Library on the history, social studies and Russian language for high school students, "Russia in the electronic world", which runs till 25 January 2017, is launched. It was attended by 1,399 high school students who scored in the first qualifying stage the required number of points. The Olympiad is held with the support of the Herzen RGPU.

The first stage was held from 21 September to 30 November 2016, there could participate all high school students regardless of their place of living. This year the contest was attended by students from 82 regions of Russia and CIS countries. Among the most active were high school students from the Tyumen region, St. Petersburg and Moscow. Total the first stage included more than 4,600 high school students.

The Olympiad of the Presidential Library "Russia in the electronic world" is held for the seventh time. Its main purpose is to attract the attention of students to state issues, moral and cultural values. Holding the Olympiad, the Presidential Library seeks to identify the most talented and owning humanities youth from different regions of Russia. Olympiad consists of three stages, two of which take place in absentia. After registering on the portal the participants for a limited amount of online time perform tasks on the Presidential Library portal. Finalists will be invited to the Presidential Library in St. Petersburg, in its branch in the Tyumen region, and the grounds of the remote electronic reading rooms of the Presidential Library in other cities of our country to participate in the final, full-time, round of the Olympiad.  

Since 2013, the Presidential Library Olympiad on history and social science library is included in the list of contests for schoolchildren, approved by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation. Thus, the winners of the Olympiad in history and social studies will be able to preferential admission to higher educational institutions to undergraduate programs and specialties.
