Life and work of K. N. Batyushkov to be featured at the video lecture in the Presidential Library

May 22, 2017 in the Presidential Library will be held a video lecture from the cycle "Knowledge of Russia" on the theme "In the premonition of Pushkin: K. N. Batyushkov in Russian literature of the beginning of the XIX century", timed to the 230th anniversary of the poet's birth, as well as the 200th anniversary of the publication of his collected works "Experiments in verse and prose". The event will begin at 12:00 and will be broadcasted live on the Presidential Library portal.

From the report of the doctor of philology, professor, leading specialist of the Arzamas Branch of the N. I. Lobachevsky Nizhny Novgorod State University Vyacheslav Anatolyevich Koshelev the listeners will learn about the life of K. N. Batyushkov, as well as the significance of his activities for the Russian literary life of the first third of the XIX century.

The literary critic, a member of the Writers' Union of St. Petersburg, will tell about the role played by K. N. Batyushkov's lyrics in the formation of the "School of Harmonic Accuracy", to which such Great Russian poets of the early XIX century belonged as Pushkin, Baratynsky, Zhukovsky, Vyazemsky Alexei Gennadievich Mashevsky.

The event will be attended by students of the Herzen Russian State Pedagogical University, the Pushkin Leningrad State University, the St. Petersburg State University, the St. Petersburg State Institute of Culture, students of pedagogical colleges, students of gymnasiums and lyceums of St. Petersburg.
