Governing Senate in the history of Russian statehood

Peter I performed a large-scale reorganization of government bodies. The changes also affected the highest authorities - the Boyar Duma was replaced by the Governing Senate. The collection marks the 310th anniversary of the establishment of the Governing Senate.

It features studies, reports, decrees and orders, reference publications, archival documents and graphic materials that represent the activities of the Governing Senate from the XVIII century to the beginning of the XX century.

The collection involved materials from the following institutions: Library of the Presidential Executive Office of the Russian Federation, Russian State Library, National Library of Russia, Russian State Historical Archive, St. Petersburg State University, State Public Historical Library, Nadezhda Krupskaya Moscow Regional State Scientific Library, State Archives of Tyumen Region, Tobolsk Historical and Architectural Museum-Reserve, Tyumen Regional Scientific Library, Ural Federal University and Children's Postcard Museum.
