Marking the Year of Russian Cinema

Year 2016 has been declared the Year of Russian Cinema. The collection, marking this event, features official documents, research papers, various visual materials (playbills, posters, postcards, etc.) that reveal various aspects of the development of Russian cinema since the early XX century and present individual films and actors of Russian and Soviet cinema.

The collection includes over six hundred documents.

The materials selected for this collection are courtesy of the Lenfilm Studios, the Russian Institute of History of Art, the Russian State Archive, the Russian State Historical Archive, the Russian Book Chamber, the Federal Security Service, the State Public Historical Library, the Vladimir Regional Universal Scientific Library, the Moscow Regional State Scientific Library, the Penza Regional Library, the Nashe Radio Station, the Children's Museum of Postcard and the private collection of postcards of N. V. Balachenkova.

In addition, the documentaries in various subjects are in open access on the Presidential Library website.
