Specialists of the Lemontov Penza Regional Library organized a military and historical quest "The Battle that Changed History" for senior pupils of Penza schools № 18, 36, 56 and city gymnasium № 53. The event was timed to coincide with the 80th anniversary of the defeat of the Nazi troops by the Soviet troops in the Battle of Stalingrad.

Quest tasks were related to famous films and books dedicated to this great battle. Schoolchildren also recalled proverbs and sayings that reflected the heroism of the Great Patriotic War.

Digitized materials available on the Presidential Library’s portal, for example, such as Alexei Chuyanov's book Stalingrad is Reviving, helped children to deal with the tasks of the quest. They are available in the library’s electronic reading room.

At the event schoolchildren also made a virtual tour of the Stalingrad Battle Panorama Museum.

As a result of the quest, the team of pupils from school № 18 prevailed. They received a diploma on its successful completion.

The section of the collection Memory of the Great Victory, presented on the Presidential Library’s portal, is dedicated to the Battle of Stalingrad. It contains documentary and journalistic publications, fragments of newsreels, photographs and much more. The collection and the section dedicated to the Battle of Stalingrad are constantly updated with new materials.
