Workshop held in Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) for heads of municipal and state libraries

Topical issues of librarianship for the period until 2032 were discussed at the workshop for managers of municipal and state libraries of Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). 

At the event the head of the Library-Archive of the First President of Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) “Nikolaev-Center” of the branch of the National Library of Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) Yuri Semyonov spoke about the new opportunities of municipal and state libraries of the republic. “The libraries of Yakutia can become leaders in the formation of creative public opinion”, - he said. Yuri Semyonov also noted that this opportunity arose thanks to the cooperation of Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) with the Presidential Library.

The event was organized by the Ministry of Culture and Spiritual Development of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) and the National Library of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) together with the State Assembly (Il Tumen) of Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).

It should be noted that today more than 1,600 centers for remote access to the resources of the Presidential Library have been opened in all constituent entities of the Russian Federation and 35 foreign countries. Their visitors can learn about the entire variety of collections of the library’s electronic holdings, which contain hundreds of thousands of digitized copies of rare archival documents reflecting the history of our country and constituting its cultural heritage, as well as become participants in various projects. The centers are based on the National Libraries and Representative Offices of Rossotrudnichestvo.
