The Sverdlovsk Regional Center of the Presidential Library joined the All-Russian Scientific and Practical Conference

On April 11, 2024, the IX All-Russian scientific and practical conference “Symbols of Russia: the Past and the Present” was held at the Gorky Ryazan Regional Universal Scientific Library. The event took place within the framework of the V Interregional Youth Patriotic Forum “Science of Victory”.

The participants were shown a video message from the speaker of the Regional Center of the Presidential Library based on the Belinsky Sverdlovsk Regional Universal Scientific Library, co-founder of the Guild of Heraldic Artists, member of the Commission of the Legislative Assembly of Sverdlovsk Region on the symbols of Sverdlovsk Region, practicing heraldist Alexander Grefenstein. He is the author of a series of lectures on the history and meaning of the coats of arms of Sverdlovsk Region. His report was devoted to scientific and educational work with schoolchildren in Yekaterinburg on drawing up family coats of arms based on the norms and rules of heraldry.

Some of Alexander Konstantinovich’s lectures are available on the Presidential Library's portal. They were created with the participation of specialists from the Sverdlovsk Regional Center of the Presidential Library.

The Presidential Library's portal features the collection Sverdlovsk Region: Pages of History. It includes statistical materials, studies, essays and photographs of the 19th – early 20th centuries, covering various aspects of the development of the region.
