Historic hour dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Simferopol from Nazi invaders held in Crimea

Specialists of the Regional Center of the Presidential Library, based on the I.Ya. Franсo Crimean Republican Universal Scientific Library, held a historic hour for students of cadet classes of School No. 6 named after Hero of the Soviet Union V. A. Gorishny. The event was dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Simferopol from the Nazi invaders.

The children were told about the events of April 13, 1944 and showed videos with the memories of eyewitnesses of the long-awaited liberation of the capital of Crimea. Special attention was paid to the monuments of the Great Patriotic War and the city streets named after the Simferopol heroes and liberators of the peninsula.

The information supplement was a bibliographic review "And from the pages covered with immortality, we will see our compatriot again", prepared by the staff of the Department of Local Lore of the I.Ya. Franсo Crimean Republican Universal Scientific Library.

In addition, the students demonstrated a good knowledge of the history of their hometown by answering the questions of a thematic quiz. The intellectual game was aimed at preserving the memory of heroic pages in the history of our great Motherland and patriotic education of the younger generation.

The collection Republic of Crimea: pages of History is available on the portal of the Presidential Library. It contains archival documents, research, essays, photographs and other materials covering various aspects of the peninsula's development from ancient times to the beginning of the 20th century.
