A series of lectures “The Holocaust in the Context of Cinema” held at the Yamal Regional Center of the Presidential Library

During March-April 2024 specialists of the Regional Center of the Presidential Library based on the National Library of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Area held a series of overview lectures “The Holocaust in the context of cinema”. Senior pupils and students of Salekhard joined the events.

The final event took place on April 19, 2024. It was visited by students of the Yamal Multidisciplinary College.

Participants were introduced to feature films covering historical events during the Holocaust. The audience was presented with fragments of films from different periods - from the post-war years to the present. The plots and characters of the paintings were discussed with the children. Participants learned about the parallels these stories have with real events. The films “The Last Stage” (1947) and “Song of Names” (2019) aroused the greatest interest.

The Presidential Library's portal features the collection Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Area: Pages of History. It includes studies, statistical materials and archival documents covering various aspects of the region's development.
