Сomputer literacy tournament for older citizens took place in Penza

On April 19, 2024, specialists of the Regional Center of the Presidential Library, based on Lermontov Penza Regional Library, held a tournament for the older generation "In computer science, we look up to our grandkids"

The event has already become a good spring tradition. Every year, the tournament gathers on its site the most active students of computer courses, which have been conducted for many years by specialists of the electronic reading room.

The participants had to take a computer terminology test, format the text, complete a number of Internet search tasks, and send an email. Answering one of the questions with the help of a source on the Presidential Library's portal is one of the mandatory rules of the tournament, because during the courses, students are pre–trained to work with electronic data from the collections of Russian electronic libraries.

While the jury was summing up the results, the audience got informed about the collection of the Presidential Library "Family and traditional family values in Russia as the basis of Russian statehood", and also took part in the intellectual quiz "Family Values" dedicated to the Year of the Family.

The winners were awarded diplomas and prizes from the Lermontov Penza Regional Library and the Regional Computer Center.

The collection "Penza region: pages of history" is presented on the portal of the Presidential Library. It includes archival documents, essays, research, statistical and other materials covering various aspects of the region's development in different historical periods.
