Anniversary of "Total Dictation" as meeting point with Russian culture abroad

On April 20, 2024, the international educational campaign "Total Dictation" was held with the support of Federal Agency for the Commonwealth of Independent States Affairs, Compatriots Living Abroad, and International Humanitarian Cooperation (Rossotrudnichestvo) abroad. It helps participants to remember the rules of spelling and punctuation, and is also educational in nature.

Schoolchildren, undergraduates, trainees of specialized courses, participants of the Russian Teacher Abroad project, as well as Russian language lovers of different ages and professions were able to test their knowledge.

The dictation was written in Russian houses in Ankara, Baku, Beirut, Berlin, Valletta, Dhaka, Chisinau, Madrid, Nicosia, New Delhi, Sofia, Hanoi. In total, residents of 43 countries campaign abroad.

This time, the author of the text was Anna Matveeva, a writer, journalist and editor. It should be noted that in 2024, the "Total Dictation" celebrated its 20th annivrsary. The city of Tomsk became its capital.

The Russian Language collection is available on the Presidential Library's portal. It includes more than 1,100 depository items of rare archival documents, including manuscripts, monuments of Russian writing, archival affairs, scientific works, dictionaries, reference books, textbooks and much more.
