Literature and music event dedicated to the Victory Day held in Crimean Regional Center of Presidential Library

On the eve of the Victory Day, one of the most important national holidays of Russia, a literary and musical evening event was held at the Regional Center of the Presidential Library of the Franco Crimean Republican Universal Scientific Library.

The event was attended by representatives of the Simferopol City Union of Veterans of War, Labor, Military and Civil Service, the Crimean Republican Union of Veterans and Invalids of War, Labor, Military Service and Law enforcement Agencies, as well as teachers, cadets, yunarmeyts, school students, readers and guests of the library.

Words of gratitude and a parting word were adressed to veterans of war and younger generation by: Sergey Pshenichnykh, Head of the Department of Military-Patriotic Education of Youth of the All-Russian Union of Veterans of a Special Military Operation, Vasily Gorishny, member of the Council of the public organization "Ukrainian Community of Crimea", Head of the headquarters of the All-Russian public movement "Volunteers of Victory" in Simferopol, Ulyana Plotnikova and Valeria Petrusevich, head of the Dobro Mira – Volunteers of Crimea Charitable Foundation, member of the Public Council under the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Republic of Crimea.

The participants honored the memory of those who died during the Great Patriotic War with a minute of silence. The students were told about the feat of Soviet soldiers who, in the name of Victory and a bright future, defended their homeland from invaders at the cost of their own lives.

Cadets of Simferopol Mokrousov school No. 7 with in-depth study of the English language congratulated veterans and presented them flowers as a sign of eternal memory of their feat.

The literary and musical evening was adorned with vocal, choreographic and poetic performances by children from the Taras Shevchenko City Cultural and Leisure Center, the Simferopol Children's Choreographic School, the MODUS OPERANDI art Studio and the Theater College of the Crimean University of Culture, Arts and Tourism.

The event also featured an exhibition of documents from the collections of the Franco Crimean Republican Universal Scientific Library "The memory of the war - in hearts and books", which deeply and comprehensively covered the history and chronicle of the events of the Great Patriotic War.

The portal of the Presidential Library has Collection of digitized archival documents, film and photo materials "World War II in archival documents", which introduces the reader with unique sources. It is also supplemented with fragments of newsreels from the collection of the Russian State Archive of Film and Photographic Documents: about the destruction of Nazi troops near Stalingrad, the breakthrough of the blockade of Leningrad, the liberation of Kharkov, the battles on the outskirts of Warsaw, the Battle for the Baltic States, the work of defence plants in the rear in the Urals.
