Presidential Library takes part in All-Russian Forum of Central Libraries of Russian Regions

On 2 and 3 April 2025 the Presidential Library takes part in the All-Russian Forum The Role of Central Libraries of Russian Regions in the Implementation of National and Departmental Projects held at the Gorky Ryazan Regional Universal Scientific Library.

On 2 April 2025 the central expert session "National and Departmental Projects: Family Values and Cultural Initiatives" was held. The session was attended by representatives of Russian regions: directors and deputy directors of federal libraries, representatives of central regional and municipal libraries.

The event featured a video greeting by Yuri Nosov, Director General of the Presidential Library. He noted the important role of libraries as centres of historical enlightenment, which are actively involved in preserving spiritual, moral and family values.

"The Presidential Library, acting in the interests of historical education, sees one of its leading tasks not just to collect and preserve book and archival materials, but also to make them in demand among children and adults", - emphasised Yuri Nosov.

It should be noted that the Presidential Library actively cooperates with the institutions of Ryazan. The collection of the institution includes digitised copies of publications of the Ryazan Regional Universal Scientific Library and the Ryazan Historical and Architectural Museum-Reserve. Along with documents from federal archives, these publications are part of the collection Ryazan region: Pages of History, which helps to preserve the memory of history, culture and traditions of the Ryazan land.

The All-Russian Forum is a strategic communication platform of national and departmental projects for library professionals, authorities, public figures, representatives of non-profit organisations and businesses. The Forum discusses key issues of library sphere development, formation of new partnerships and implementation of topical solutions. The theme of this year's Forum is Family Values and Cultural Initiatives.

Anna Vorobyeva, Chief Bibliographer of the Bibliography and Cataloguing Department of the Presidential Library, delivered a report "The collection Family and Traditional Family Values in Russia as the Basis of Russian Statehood: Principles, Tasks, Formation to the participants and guests of the Forum in the video-conference mode.

The forum also discusses the following issues: 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, 130th anniversary of the birth of S. A.Esenin, the role of libraries in preserving the memory of the events of the Great Patriotic War, in preserving historical memory and traditional spiritual and moral values, modern approaches to the formation and use of library collections, the connection between the past and the future in the library space, professional competences in working with children and young people, international cooperation and others.

The event is supported by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation. The organisers are the Government of Ryazan region, the Russian State Library, the Rudomino All-Russian State Library of Foreign Literature, the Russian State Library for Youth, the Russian State Children's Library, the Gorky Ryazan Regional Universal Scientific Library, the State Museum-Reserve of S. A. Esenin, the Russian Library Association, the Public Chamber of the Ryazan region, the Ryazan Library Society.
