Photographs from the Presidential Library are exhibited in the Crimea for the first time

Today, May 25, 2017, in the Livadia Palace in Crimea was held the opening of the exhibition of the first color photographs of the Russian Empire "Russia's Spaces in Color Photography by Sergei Prokudin-Gorsky".

70 works from more than 2 thousand photographs of S. M. Prokudin-Gorsky are printed by the Karl Bulla Historical Photography Foundation and are first presented in the Crimea.

S. M. Prokudin-Gorsky is known as a man who made a great contribution to the development of technology for creating color images. In 1905, he made his first major trip around Russia, which goal was to capture the beauty of nature and the richness of the country's culture. Prokudin-Gorsky made color photography in the Crimea. A number of photographs presented at the exhibition reflect architectural monuments of the Crimean peninsula: photographs depict the Livadia Palace, the Swallow's Nest, Massandra, Bakhchisaray.

It was noted that the exhibition is one of the largest cultural events in the Crimea. Vacationers in the sanatoriums of the Department of Affairs of the President of the Russian Federation can also visit it.
