The Presidential Library to present the history of football in Russia from its origin to the present day

During the days of the Confederations Cup in Russia, the Presidential Library presented on its portal the collection "On the occasion of 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup in the Russian Federation". The collection includes the Decree of the President of Russia "On organizing the preparation of the 2018 World Cup in the Russian Federation" on March 25, 2013, decrees and orders of the Government of the Russian Federation dedicated to the preparation and holding of the Confederations Cup - 2017 and the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia. The documents confirming the forms of the entrance ticket for the FIFA 2018 FIFA World Cup matches and the FIFA Confederations Cup 2017, the behavior rules of the spectators during the official sports competitions and others are of particular interest. 

The Presidential Library for the opening of the main international football competition, which will be held in 2018, will include in its funds the documents and materials that tell about the history of the most popular kind of sports in the world and Russia, information about famous players and outstanding coaches, visual materials, and others. 

The materials on the preparations for the Confederations Cup and the World Cup, dedicated to the construction of stadiums and other infrastructure facilities, design and technical documentation are planned for digitization; photos from events related to the conduct of competitions; official documents of the authorities on the organization of football and sports in the USSR and the Russian Federation, charters, regulations and other documents of sports and public organizations that regulate their activities; archival materials on the history of football and sports in the Russian Empire, newspaper and magazine materials from specialized and universal periodicals, including the military period, about football; graphic materials (posters, etc.) on the promotion of physical culture and sports, healthy lifestyles; materials from private collections of collectors, regional exhibitions and others about the history of individual football clubs in Russia; archive photos and other materials from private collections of journalists, athletes and others.
