A black-and-white chronicle documentary film "Blockade" was created in 2005 by director Sergei Loznitsa The film is dedicated to the life of the besieged Leningrad, based on the archive materials of the Film Fund of the St. Petersburg Documentary Film Studio, as well as fragments from the films "Leningrad in Struggle" (dir. R. Karmen, N. Komarevtseva, V. Solovtsov, E. Uchitel), "900 unforgettable days" (directed by V. Solovtsov), "The feat of Leningrad" (directed by E. Uchitel, V. Solovtsov), "The verdict of the people" (directed by E. Teacher). The film consists of 5 parts, reflecting the civil everyday life of the city at different stages of the blockade. In the film, the everydayness of the events is emphasized. The video of each part is divided into certain subjects. The first part shows a white night in pre-war Leningrad, military city panoramas, air defense measures (anti-aircraft artillery and balloons), the passage of the first captured fascists through the streets of the city. In the second part - fires and panoramas of destroyed buildings. In the third part - killed and wounded people, damaged buildings and cultural monuments, tanks and building soldiers, anti-fascist posters. In the fourth part - footage from the life of the blockaded city in winter conditions, the evacuation of residents. In the fifth - the harvesting of water and firewood, corpses on the streets of the city, a festive salute, the execution of the sentence for the hanging of German fascist soldiers on January 5, 1946. The film "Blockade" was awarded several domestic and international awards as the best documentary film .
