The building has 4 floors and is made in the style of Russian classicism. Architects - Vikenti Ivanovich Beretti and his son Alexander Vikentyevich Beretti. The architecture of the University is monumental in the nature of a large public building. The building of the University had a great influence on the formation and further development of Kiev in the 1830s-1840s.
