Video material introduces the event, which took place at the Presidential Library on October 17, 2013, - the first Senate readings for young lawyers. In the discussions dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of the Russian Federation, senior students, undergraduates, graduate students, doctoral students and young teachers of the law faculties of St. Petersburg universities took part. Representatives of the universities of the Moscow and Arkhangelsk regions, Kirov and Kostroma joined them in the video-conferencing mode. Director General of the Presidential Library, Doctor of Law, Professor Alexander Vershinin noted that it is necessary to continue "the formation and development of professional legal thinking, the education of political and legal culture, the strengthening of the rule of law." The vice-rector of the Lomonosov Moscow State University, Doctor of Law, Professor, Honored Lawyer of the Russian Federation Sergey Shakhrai devoted his speech to three questions: why one should be proud of the Constitution; what future leaders of the country should know in order to see in the Basic Law an effective and modern management tool, rather than an ancient artifact; that we do not yet know about the Constitution. S. Shakhrai touched upon the historical significance of the Russian Constitution, the practical application of the Basic Law in the current governance environment and the prospects for Russia's constitutional development. Judge of the Constitutional Court of the Russian Federation, Doctor of Law, Professor, Honored Lawyer of the Russian Federation Gadis Hajiyev proposed to launch an information campaign and social advertising on the general theme "Constitution - for people". It can include concrete examples of assistance to the population provided through the application of the Basic Law .
