The monument to Emperor Alexander III was consecrated and inaugurated on November 14, 1896. The pedestal of the monument represented a quadrangular prism and was made from the Kiev Labrador. On the front side of the pedestal is the inscription: "Emperor Alexander III, the grateful Theodosius," and on the back: "Built in the prosperous reign of Emperor Nicholas II in 1896". The author of the monument is Professor Bach (Odessa). Chairman of the Committee for the construction of the monument City Duma approved IK Aivazovsky.
