The bust of Peter the Great is located above the entrance to the house No. 26 along Nevsky Prospekt - the former apartment house of GI Hansen. The first three-story stone house on the corner of Nevsky Prospekt and Malaya Konyushennaya Street was built in 1776-1777 for Colonel P. P. Trunov. In 1873-1874, the architect V. A. Kenel, the building was completely rebuilt at the request of the new owner - the Norwegian businessman GI Hansen. Hansen's house is the first apartment house in St. Petersburg with a facade in eclectic style, with showcases for the height of two floors.
