On May 31, 2017, on the eve of the International Children's Day, Vladimir Putin presented the Parental Glory Order to parents of large families. Among the awardees are families from Astrakhan and Yaroslavl regions, Karelia, Buryatia, North Ossetia-Alania, Perm and Primorsky Krai, Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug-Ugra. The order is awarded to parents and adoptive parents who raise or bring up seven or more children, provide a high level of care for health, education, physical, spiritual and moral development of the younger generation, set an example in strengthening the institution of the family. Order "Parental Glory" was established by presidential decree in May 2008 .
