The Saints Peter and Paul Church and the St. Barbara Church

The Saints Peter and Paul Church and the St. Barbara Church

The Peter and Paul Church is built in 1146. During the Polish intervention of 1611 - 1654 years there was a residence of the Catholic (Uniate) archbishop near by, so the church was turned into a roman catholic one. From 1654, the Church of St. Peter and St. Paul became an orthodox parish. In the middle of the XVIII century it was rebuilt, and the church of St. Barbara adjoined it from its west side. The Saints Peter and Paul Church was rebuilt several times. It was heavily damaged in 1943, following which in 1962 - 1963 under the leadership of P. D. Baranovsky the original appearance of the church was restored.
