The collection of the Presidential Library Russian language has been enriched with digital copies of archival documents dedicated to the language policy of the Russian Empire from the middle of the XIX to the beginning of the XX century.
The documents included in the section Russian language and national policy. Language Policy in Russia, illustrate the impact of foreign and domestic policy of the state on language policy and methods of state regulation of the language situation in the country.
One of the main problems of the multinational state - to ensure communication in public institutions for persons who do not speak the primary language of the state, and the determination of the order of the use in the field of official languages of national minorities.
