“Arkaim - Country of Cities: Space and Images” international photo exhibition was opened in the Saratov Regional Museum of Local Lore. It is marking the 30th anniversary of the discovering of this world-famous Bronze Age archaeological site and the 45th anniversary of the beginning of the "Sintashta" unique cultural and historical complex study, as well as the 80th anniversary of archaeologist Professor G. B. Zdanovich, who discovered the “Country of Cities”.

200 years ago, on January 16 (28), 1820, Antarctica was discovered by the first Russian Antarctic expedition led by Faddey Faddeevich Bellingshausen and Mikhail Petrovich Lazarev. Research papers on this significant event for the whole world are presented in the form of an “Antarctic” collection in the extensive collection of the Presidential Library Russian Voyages Around the World of the First Half of the 19th Century.

On the eve of the FIFA 2018 FIFA World Cup, on February 9 at 14:00 the Presidential Library will host a press conference where the Anglo-Russian toponymic online encyclopedia "Saint-Petersburg" will be presented for the first time. It contains the names of all objects of the urban environment of St. Petersburg written in Latin: railway stations, monuments, post offices, schools and others. These names can be used on city signs, transport schemes, in guidebooks for tourists.

New documents from the personal archives of residents of besieged Leningrad entered the Presidential Library's collections

January 27, 2024 marks the 80th anniversary of the complete liberation of Leningrad from the Nazi siege. By this date, the Presidential Library’s collections entered with new materials from the family archives of the Ivanov-Rozhnovskys, Malakhovs, and Kulikovs. These are documents, photographs, letters, memories and diaries of residents of the besieged city. The materials are available on the library's portal and can be accessed from anywhere in the world.
