Internet and Museums: The Polytechnic Museum launched an Internet-portal, marking its 150th anniversary

The Polytechnic Museum has prepared a special program to mark its 150th anniversary, which will be celebrated in December 2022. The portal was launched, making it possible to read the memories of visitors, watch videos and listen to the new thematic podcast. Users will also have an opportunity to learn about all events planned for adults and children to mark the anniversary.

The oldest and largest church library in Germany, located in Freising, a town in Bavaria, is digitizing about 300 thousand books of its collections to make them available on Internet.

The State Hermitage Museum in 2014 celebrated its 250th anniversary. The museum was established as a private collection of Catherine II, and a birthday is celebrated on the day of St. Catherine, on December 7. Although, the festivals will last all the year. More information about the museum plans was told by its director Michael Piotrowski.

The Tosno Historical Regional Museum (Leningrad Region) presents two travelling exhibitions from the Novgorod Museum-Reserve. “Songs and Fairy Tales in Russian Popular Print” showcases about 20 lubok prints from the Novgorod Museum’s collection. Over 20 items from the porcelain collection of the Novgorod Museum-Reserve are on display as part of another exhibition - “Porcelain Figurines of Russian Private Factories”.

On December 7, 2017, the Presidential Library conducted a presentation of two projects at once: the December issue of the monthly historical and popular science magazine named Rodina (lit. native country), as well as the historical calendar of the Presidential Library for 2018 entitled “Russian inventors.” The event was held as part of the development of cooperation between the Presidential Library and the Rossiyskaya Gazeta.
