Actual problems of the judicial translation to be considered at the Presidential Library

May 18, 2017 the Presidential Library host a discussion session of the St. Petersburg International Legal Forum on "The Institute of Judicial (Attorney) Translation: Using International Experience". The event will be broadcasted live on the Presidential Library portal. Start - 10:00 Moscow time. 

The event was organized by the Presidential Library in conjunction with the Main Scientific Research Computing Center of the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation (GLAVNITS) and the Union of Russian Translators (UTR) at two venues - in St. Petersburg abnd Moscow in video conference mode.

During the discussion, the draft of the Provision on the judicial interpreter developed by the UTR will be considered, the issues of translation at all stages of the investigation and court, notarial translation, qualification and responsibility of the judicial (sworn) translator will be raised.

The discussion is planned to be attended by Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation Veniamin Yakovlev, President of the UTR Evgeny Maslovsky, Chairman of the Board of the Russian-Asian Juridical Association Maxim Tafintsev, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee for State Construction and Legislation Yuri Sinelshikov, as well as Russian and foreign participants of the SPBILF-2017, representatives of the judiciary community, the Federal Chamber of Notaries, the Notary Chamber of St. Petersburg, Moscow and Petersburg universities, hedas of translation companies.

The accreditation of journalists for the event in the Presidential Library is obligatory and will be open until 12:00 May 17, 2017.

The attached form should specify the full name, the media name, the date and the place of birth, passport data (series, number, place of registration), worn equipment, contact numbers.

We draw your attention that the entrance to the Presidential Library for the participants of the SPBILF-2017 is implemented upon the Forum’s accreditation card, other participants of the event – upon preliminary application form showing passports through the entrance №1. The entrance to the Presidential library for media representatives is through entrance №2 upon showing the passports.
