Marking the Day of Russian Science: Events held in the country’s museums

From February 8 to 11, 2023, the Tsiolkovsky State Museum of the History of Cosmonautics (Kaluga) hosts events marking the Day of Russian Science.

The Day of Russian Science is timed to coincide with the date of the foundation of the Russian Academy of Sciences, established by order of Emperor Peter I by decree of the Senate of January 28 (February 8, new style), 1724. Since 1999, the Day of Russian Science has been celebrated annually on February 8 in accordance with the decree of the President of the Russian Federation of June 7, 1999.

The museum and its departments present a special program, which includes lectures, museum classes, intellectual games, creative workshops, thematic excursions, and the premiere of the full-dome program in the museum’s planetarium.

The State Darwin Museum (Moscow) has also prepared a cultural program for the Day of Russian Science. On this day, together with the specialists of the Robot Station, visitors will have an opportunity to erase the line between the technological present and the fantastic future, to learn about the capabilities of artificial intelligence, and to meet a robotic human friend.
