History of Russia: Photo exhibition "50 years of aviation parade at Domodedovo airport"

Half a century ago, an air parade took place at Domodedovo airport, which became a resonant event for the whole world. Then, in July 1967, for the first time after a significant interruption of the general public on the ground and in the air, the latest examples of various military and civil aviation equipment were presented. Aviaparad at Domodedovo airport went down in history as the last aviation parade in the Soviet Union.

The brightest moments of that day remained in the memoirs and photo chronicles. In honor of the 50th anniversary of this significant event on the second floor of the Domodedovo airport terminal, a photo exhibition was opened. It is organized jointly with the Main Archival Administration of the city of Moscow.

The Main Archive of Moscow represents a large layer of photo documents related to this date. For the exhibition, archivists selected the unique works of famous photo artists M. Chernov, V. Yegorov, L. Polikashin, B. Vdovenko, V. Cheredintsev. Visitors to the exhibition will see on the photos of participants in the air parade - the leading pilots of the group "Lenin", aircraft designers and ordinary spectators, various types of military equipment of the time, as well as rare group portraits of military delegations from the GDR, Cuba, Czechoslovakia.
