International events: The exhibition "Peterhof - Summer Palace: Imperial Residences of Russia and China. The Century of History and the View of the Present" in China

The Peterhof State Museum-Reserve, from July 25 to August 30, 2017 presents the exhibition "Peterhof - Summer Palace: Imperial Residences of Russia and China" in the Park "Iheyuan" (Summer Palace, Beijing Municipal Park Management Center). The Age of History and the View of Modernity".

The exhibition is based on picturesque landscapes of two brilliant palace and park complexes of Russia and China, created by the famous artist Alyona Vasilyeva. The idea to compare the images of two famous ensembles of Russia and China - Peterhof and Ikeyuan is aimed at the humanistic rapprochement of the two cultures. Both of these different ensembles bring together the diversity of art rarities created by the best representatives of the two peoples. Residences have become a favorite place for summer holidays of members of the imperial dynasties in several generations, and today they are the centers of tourism.

This exhibition is the first joint project between the largest palace and park complexes of the two countries. It includes photo exposition, telling about the history of the Peterhof Museum-Reserve and the modern vision of the ensembles through the eyes of our contemporary.
